Klaus Hartmann is a German author based in Braunschweig, Germany. With the Alex Turner novels, he develops a fictional crime universe in which criminal cases are connected to broader social, political and psychological structures.

His novels do not focus solely on individual perpetrators or isolated crimes. They explore the systems that make crimes possible, protect them or benefit from them. Hartmann’s fiction combines suspense, investigation and structural analysis.
